Video Pipe Inspection in Sacramento, CA

Plumbing has a long history, going back to the first drainage systems in the earliest cities of ancient Mesopotamia. Of course, plumbing technology has advanced far since simple clay irrigation. Today, the best in plumbing equipment allows professional plumbers to do what was only a dream a few decades before: to look down inside plumbing systems without needed to dig up a single inch of building material. Video pipe inspection equipment has made plumbing repairs, sewer line work, and drain cleaning easier and faster than ever before.

However, technology is only as good as the people who use it. The most advanced plumbing tool ever invented won’t mean much unless a trained plumber is behind it. Crystal Blue Plumbing, Heating & Air has both the skilled plumbers and the advanced tools necessary to deliver satisfaction on every job. We don’t want to do a good job for you; we want to do the best job! That’s why our motto is “Customer Service the Way It Used to Be!” Arrange for your plumbing services in Sacramento, CA and the surrounding areas with us.

How Video Pipe Inspections Work

Video pipe inspection equipment combines miniaturization, digital imaging, and fiber optics into a single tool that allows a plumber to examine closely the interior of pipes. A small digital camera is mounted on the end of a length fiber optic cable.

The cable is long enough to snake the entire length of a residential sewer line. The cable connects to a monitor on the other end, where a plumber has a high–resolution view of what the camera and the LED light mounted on it reveal. Plumbers can also record these images to show them to customers so they can better understand what’s happening inside their pipes.

Using Video Pipe Inspection Equipment in Plumbing Jobs

As you might imagine, having the ability to send a camera down deep into the plumbing of a home can be useful in a number of ways. One of the common uses is to help with leak detection. Plumbers can narrow down the area of a leaking pipe, but using a video camera inside the pipes makes it easier to pinpoint exactly where repairs are necessary.

For drain cleaning, video inspections give plumbers a better idea of what type of build–up they’re dealing with so they know the best way to move ahead with cleaning. Video inspections are also helpful for diagnosis problems in sewer lines, such as identifying if tree root infiltration is the source of blockage along the line.
